    Louise Connell

Louise Connell is a singer-songwriter from Airdrie, near Glasgow. Previously performing and releasing her music under the name REVERIEME, she has earned a considerable reputation as an outstanding songwriter, with a particular knack for framing intelligent, literate lyrics in haunting and beautiful melodies, delivered by “a voice that would melt iron” (Ravechild)

Her first studio album, Straw Woman (2016), was released to consistent critical acclaim and overwhelmingly positive reviews, and was the featured album of the week on several BBC Radio Scotland programmes as well as receiving general airplay on Radio 2, Radio 6 (Lauren Laverne’s “Headphone Moment”), Radio 4, Virgin Radio and Amazing Radio.

Recently, her work has come to the attention of legendary artist and designer James Marsh. Famous for his wonderful illustrations for records by Talk Talk, Jamiroquai and many others, James drew inspiration from Louise’s newest songs to create a series of beautiful designs for her forthcoming releases, which will be the first records released under her own name Louise Connell.
These will be a series of three 6-track EPs, each of which will reflect a slightly differ
ent aspect of Louise’s writing and performance. The first EP, Squall will be released on October 20th, with parts 2 and 3 (Echo and Rale) following in March and May 2018 respectively.

Having performed at various festivals during the summer, both solo and with her band (Belladrum, Solas Festival, XpoNorth, Butefest, Jocktoberfest, Parkfest, North Hop etc) as well as a number of live appearances across the UK, Germany and Sweden, Louise and her band recently filmed a very well-received live set for BBC’s The Quay Sessions.
Inspired by the myriad books, films and records she has devoured throughout her life, Louise Connell creates captivating, haunting songs that offer an intriguing glimpse of an inquisitive mind and a unique view of the world around her, and writes with a depth and intelligence that very few can match.
